Many people at St. Joseph the Worker endeavor to make our church warm, inviting, and reflective of the Gospel message. The Altar Guild's main purpose is to promote this by caring for the sanctuary and narthex, maintaining plants, flowers, candles and the altar. The altar is one of the most important parts of any church service. We strive to maintain and decorate according to the season and celebration. We devote time and creative energy to making our sanctuary pleasing and liturgically appropriate.
Providing meals for funerals is another way we can reach out to those in our community when they need support. The Altar Guild ministers to families who are grieving a loss by organizing, preparing, and serving light meals or desserts at receptions following funerals or memorial services. PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE SORRY THAT DURING COVID, THE ALTAR GUILD CAN NOT PROVIDE RECEPTIONS FOR FUNERALS. WE ASK THAT FAMILIES FURNISH THEIR OWN FOOD AND SERVICE IF A RECEPTION IS DESIRED. WE WILL ASSIST WITH SET-UP AND CLEAN-UP. Please discuss funeral arrangements with Father Ted (x1302) or [email protected] .
